Oh friend I adore all these sensory images and you took me right back to my own stories of American girls!! I always wanted Kirsten! But I loved my Felicity doll (and Molly too!)
Oh my gosh! That photo of you holding Kirsten is everything!!! Molly was my American Girl doll of choice. I don't have her anymore but this post really made me wish I had kept her. I also *love* A Wrinkle in Time and semi recently re-read it, then went down a Madeleine L'Engle rabbit hole. Delightful. Merry Christmas, Erin! <3
Thank you, Megan! I love knowing that about you. 😊 Yes, Madeline L'Engle is amazing. I need to reread A Wrinkle in Time, too. I hope you had a merry Christmas and sending warm wishes for you and your family into the new year!
Loved reading this, Erin! I spent so many hours looking through the pages of the American Girl catalog and books! My grandmother generously gifted me several over the years, but I was a Samantha girl.
Sister older by 15 months than I had very similar wishes. For me, it was Lionel electric trains. This was some 80 years ago. Your story sure hit a cord with me. Sis and I would sit on the stairs waiting for Mom and Dad to get up so we could go down to see the living room where the tree was. Anyway, such a nice memory you bring to mind. Thanks very much.

American Girl dolls are the best! I also loved subscribing to their magazine for girls for a season 😍
It’s been a long time since reading something made me cry. Thank you. This is perfect.
I'm so glad this resonated with you. Thanks for reading and sharing 💗

I was a Felicity girl! Same adventures, same laser focus belly down on the carpet. What a lovely peak into all the senses of your Christmas. ❤️🎄
