Goodness, moving can be so hard. It's interesting because I'm currently working on a post about this idea of liminal spaces, which you mentioned here! It seems that many of us are feeling that way right now. Also - that poem at the end gave me chills! I'm going to copy it into my commonplace journal!! <3
Liminal spaces have much to teach and offer us, but goodness can they be uncomfortable to navigate. I look forward to reading your reflections on them. I'm glad you enjoyed the poem. I think I need to start a commonplace journal like you. 😊 Thanks for reading, friend!
Lines like “living here feels hard” are honest and create a deep connection. Your experience of rediscovering joy through your children’s laughter is touching and relatable. I especially appreciated the invitation to “nourish ourselves and others,” as it captures the generous spirit of your reflections.
I LOVE this piece Erin. As we’re headed toward military retirement we’re feeling a lot of grief, and this piece met me where we’re at. Soon it’ll be our choice to stay or go from our current location and that feels really rough instead of being ordered to go somewhere new. Thanks for the reminder it’s a grief and a goodness.
Needed these reminders for Election Day! And love getting a glimpse into the gift and challenge of moving and settling in.
Thank you, Kim!

Lindsay, how exciting to know you're on the precipe of such a good change. I'm glad to know my words resonated with you 💗
Of course there is grief there, too, but we hold the tension of both and find grace in it. Thanks again, friend.
