This put a lump in my throat. Thank you for your honesty. I am so glad for those thin places in our life!
I haven’t been able to leave my house in almost a week, so I am feeling a little blue myself. Here’s to the promise that the snow doesn’t last forever!
Wow-I felt completely transported to Holden after reading your words. So much peace ❤️
Our winter is not QUITE Chicago-level, but it’s been glum and rainy and my winter go to is Saturday morning baby soup aka boys in the bathtub for....a long time. Bathtub crayons are a messy disaster, but they play with them long enough for me to LIE DOWN and zone out 🙏🏻
Getting outside for a little bit each day, planning trips for later this year when the weather is warmer ;), treating myself to new slippers and a new hat to keep me warm. ❄️
Stacy, thanks for your excitement! The book I wrote about is shelved in my Google docs, and I'm not sure she'll ever see the light of say, but she was good preparation for The Beauty of Motherhood. Praying that the next book comes when the Spirit wills it 💗
Thank you, Kim! 💕 Jack is currently running around our church fellowship hall with the other kids and it's so nice for him to burn off some energy before we go home.
Beautifully expressed 🤍
Thanks for reading, Jennifer! I'm glad this resonated with you 💗

Yes, snow doesn't last forever! I'm glad this resonated, Erin. Sending you a virtual hug!

Thank you so much, Fay! "Morning baby soup" is brilliant -- we may have to try that soon.
I love the prayer to stay dazzled. My prayer has been to let me be surprised. ❤️
Thanks, Alyssa! I like your prayer a lot, too.

Melissa, I love these tips. I need some more outdoor time in the sun!
A new book?! I cannot wait to hear more, Erin!

Oh!! 🙈🙈 I just saw I missed the year. 😉
The story I needed was the one I was already living. So much goodness here!
To beat the winter blues we’ve been running around the church gym with friends or just ourselves playing basketball or pickle ball!
Thank you, Kim! 💕 Jack is currently running around our church fellowship hall with the other kids and it's so nice for him to burn off some energy before we go home.
Loved this, Erin! Five big things that are helping my winter blues this year are:
1. Gym childcare
2. Walking pad and standing desk next to a window
3. Happy light
4. A sitter two afternoons per week
5. The main branch of the Columbus library.
Krista, these tips are great! Thank you. I'm a huge fan of our local library, too. Thinking about investing in a happy light as well.
